江戸時代、日本の数学は独自の発展を遂げていました。

和紙と筆しかない時代に、行列式や円周率の計算を成しとげていました。

それらの計算は、神社や寺院に数学の問題を書いた絵馬（算額）が奉納されることが一般的でした。

これにより、数学が広く一般の人々に普及し、問題解決の文化が育まれたのです。

The event helped popularise mathematics to the broader public and fostered a problem-solving culture.

私たちは、f(x)やら,Σやら、logとか、指数とか、i(虚数)とか、そういう表記法があることを、感謝しなければなりません。

江戸時代においても、相当に精度の高い日食の発生日時の計測ができていたという話を聞いたことがあります。

では、江戸時代においては「地動説（コペルニクス的宇宙観）」は常識だったのかなぁ、と思い調べてみたところ、そうでもなかったようです。
