「仮説を立てたら、検証せずにはいられない」

Last week, I didn't endure itch of the entire body, and I tried many topical creams on the market. However, I had the same symptoms and went to the hospital.

診察された先生が開口一番

The first thing the doctor said,

―― まさか、下着を外に干していないですよね

"You don't say that you hang out your underwaters."

とおっしゃられて、びっくりしました。

I was surprised to hear that.

江端：「いえ、普通に干しています」

Ebata: "Yes, I do them normally."

先生：「駄目ですよ! それじゃあ、痒くなるのは当然ですよ」

The doctor: "No way! Your itch is no wonder."

花粉症のターゲットは、目と鼻と思っていたのですが、まさか全身が攻撃対象となっているとは、知りませんでした。

I thought the target of hay fever was just the eyes and nose, and I did not know that the entire body was also included.

処方して頂いた塗り薬と、陰干しの下着に変更しただけで、ウソのように痒みが収まりました。

The cream and hanging inside to dry underwaters soon cured the itch.

市販の薬など購入せずに、とっとと専門医にかかって、薬を処方して貰うのが、結局、早くて安いなぁ、と改めて実感していました。

I came as a fresh reminder that it is faster and cheaper to go a hospital for being prescribed a drug by a medical specialist than buying some creams on the market.

今月は、例外的に相当忙しくて、体調がボロボロでした。

This month, I have been swamped and rarely felt sick.

もしかしたら、あの体調の悪さが、「痒み」を発生させた主原因かもしれないと思い、残っていた外干しした下着のセットを試したみたところ、

I wondered if the main reason for the itch was this bad condition this month, so I tried to use underwear that I hung outside,

たちまち、あの全身の痒みがぶり返してしまいました。

the itch of the entire body came back immediately.

これもエンジニアの習性 ―― ではなく、単に、私が馬鹿者というだけのことでしょう。

This is not just the habits of engineers - it's just that I am a fool.
