想像力の欠如した、低能な人間

暴力といえば、「数字」も「データ」も結構な暴力でしょう。
According to "violence," both "number" and "data" will be violence.
私、「数字」と「データ」を使った連載を続けておりますが、今のところ、この連載のコラムに対して、正面から疑義を唱えてきた人は、片手にも満たないです。
Now, I was given works of serialized columns, and only a few people have taken objection to the contents until now.
そのような人でも、きちんと筋道を立ててお話すれば、納得して頂けます。
The person also can understand my thoughts logically.
もちろん、私が間違っていることもあり、意見を修正することもあります。
Of course, I sometimes make mistakes and modify my opinions.
しかし、疑義を唱えてこられるようなケースは絶無というほど少ないです。
However, the cases have been rare despairingly.

「数字」と「データ」は、理解が難しい上に、反論がしにくい。
Both "number" and "data" are challenging to understand and argue against.
逆から見れば、多くの人を騙すのには「数学」は最高の武器で、「数字」は権力サイドの最高のツールにもなるのです
From the opposite view, "number" is the best weapon, and "math" is also the best tool to try to mislead the public.
「数」は暴力であるが故、暴力に対抗する為にも「数」の学問―― 「数学」は大切なのです。
"Number" is violence. So, we must study "math" to fight against violence.
にも関わらず、「二次関数は義務教育から削除しろ」と主張する作家夫婦や「女性は三角関数より花の名前でも覚えていればいい」と言ってしまう県知事がいます。
However, a writer said, "Delete quadratic function from the compulsory education process," a prefectural governor said, "Girls should learn names of flowers by heart without learning trigonometrical function."

"They are unimaginative and dumb."
と、私が決めつけるのは、こういう理由です。
they cannot understand the dangers of the power of "numbers" and "math."
