このブログを数年後に見る人がいるかもしれないので、念の為に説明しますと、

Some people will read my diary after several years so I will explain the background.

■このブログを書いている時点で、「大相撲」という(スポーツだの、神事だの、よく分からないのですが)、我が国の「国技」とされているものが存在していました。

When I wrote this diary, "Ou-Sumo" was a national sport in Japan. (However, I don't know if that is a sport or a shrine festival.)

(何を言っているのか分からない人の為に説明すると、「土俵」というのは、要するに相撲というレスリングのフィールドであり、『不浄な』女性が入ってはいけない『神聖な』場所なのだそうです。

(If you could understand the above phrase, I would explain it. "Sumo-ring" is a sanctuary, so women cannot enter the ring because all women are unclean creatures.)

■加えて、その女性が土俵に入った後に、大量の塩を撒くという、行為も行われました。

(何を言っているのか分からない人の為に説明すると、「塩を撒く」という行為は、神事などにおける、穢れ(けがれ)を払う為の、儀礼の一つです)

帰宅したら、長女が、このニュースに大激怒していました。

しかし、もう私は、そんなフェーズは、10数年前に終焉しており、このニュースを聞いた時も、特に何も感じませんでした。

ほうれんそうは、美味しいです。

Spinach is delicious.

私の昼食のハムエッグには欠かせない食材ですが ―― 最近、値段が高いです。

It's an essential ingredient in my lunch of ham and eggs -- but it's been pricey lately.

『一束400円は出せないなぁ』と、最近は、その隣りにある「小松菜(こまつな)」を手に取ってしまいます。

"I can't pay 400 yen for a bunch of Komatsuna," I say, picking up the komatsuna beside it.

小松菜の値段は、ざっくりほうれんそうの半額なのですが、どうしても味は、ほうれんそうには及びません。

Komatsuna is roughly half the price of spinach, but its taste is not as good.

ですので、小松菜の方は、1cm単位に切ってソテーして、味を曖昧にするようにしています。

So, for the komatsuna, I cut it into 1 cm pieces and saute it to obscure the flavor.

まあ、これくらいに抑えないと、在宅勤務で体重を維持し続けるのは難しいです。

I have to keep it down to this level while working from home to keep my weight down.

今年のノーベル生理学・医学賞が、新型コロナウイルスのmRNAワクチンにつながる技術を開発した科学者2人に贈られることが、発表されました。

It was recently announced that this year's Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine will be awarded to two scientists who have developed the technology leading to an mRNA vaccine for a new coronavirus.

以前、私は、

今回の受賞で、mRNAの研究そのものが、かなり以前(2005年)に公開されていることを知りました。

つまりmRNAワクチン研究も、いわゆる『ノーベル賞のタイムラグ問題』をクリアしていたようです。

私が大学生の頃、カルト教団批判を続けてきた人が『空気銃で狙撃された』という話を聞きました。

When I was a college student, I heard that someone who had been a critic of cults had been 'shot with an air gun.

最初は、

これは、その記事のPV(Page View Count ページへのアクセス数)を増やす為に行われるもので、「キャッチー(catchy)」と言われるものです。

This is done to increase the PV of the article (the number of accesses to the page view count page) and is called "catchy."

【変化】《形》catchier | catchiest、

【形-1】うけそうな、人の心を捕らえる、人気に投じやすい、人気を呼びそうな

【形-2】ひっかかりやすい、ペテンの、引っかかりやすい

【形-3】断続的な、発作的な、気紛れな、評判になりそうな

【形-4】すぐ覚えられる、覚えやすい、記憶しやすい

このキャッチーによっては、PV数が劇的に変動するので、非常に重要な要素と言えます。

The catchy is a significant factor because the number of PVs changes dramatically.

ところが、キャッチーには、「記事の趣旨と違う」ならまだしも、主語を取り替え真逆の趣旨の意味にしたり、反論の内容を結論のように見せかける、などという、悪質なものもあります。

However, other vicious things in catchy are "different from the article's purpose." "making the meaning of the opposite meaning," or "making the contents of the counterargument appear as a conclusion."

読者である私たちの多くは、このキャッチーによって、期待していた内容と全く違う記事に誘導され、貴重な自分の時間を奪われています。

以前、EE Times Japanとは別のWeb出版社で、掲載させて頂いていたのですが、この「キャッチー」が、記事の内容を反映していないことがあり、何度か変更をお願いしたことがあります。

私は「大げさ」とか「過度な強調」というのは、なんとか飲み込めます。

The percentage of online submissions that are ignored (online submission ignorance rate) was calculated by linking political organizations related to Diet members by politician name.

算出したのは良いのですが、自分でレビューできていなかったので、今、眺めています。

「育児を手伝う」とか「家事を手伝う」などと、この時にあって、まだこんな『ふざけた』ことを平気でいっている、低能な男性芸能人のコメントに、腹を立てています

最近の私は、世間の価値観が『2週間』で更新され続けていることを、痛感しています。

ちょっと油断していると、世間の価値観から乖離してしまいます。

もちろん、個人の信念や価値観(ポリシー)は、個人として持ち続ければ良いです。
