私も計算でコラムを書いていますので、私の場合は『理系エンジニアとは思えない程の雑な計算と推定』と言われるのかもしれません。
I also write columns with calculations, so in my case, they might say to me, "Miscellaneous calculations and estimates that don't sound like a science engineer.'
いずれにしても、私は、こういうコメントをする人が嫌いです。
In any case, I dislike people who make these comments.

私が『雑な計算と推定』をしなければならないのは、私の前にその計算を行なった人が誰もいないからです。
Because no one has done that calculation before me, I have to make 'miscellaneous calculations and estimates',
もし、先行文献(論文や書籍)があったら、当然に、それを引用しますが、" それ" がなければ、身の回りにある仮説を組み立てて、モデル化して、計算するしかありません。
If there is prior literature (papers or books), I cite it, but if there is no 'it,' then I have to construct, model, and calculate hypotheses around us.
『雑な計算と推定』であったとしても、それは、私が精魂込めてモデル化し、プログラミングし、コンピュータが熱暴走でダウンするほどの計算を繰り返して、導き出した"もの"です。
Even if it is a 'crude calculation and estimation,' it is 'something' that I have derived after putting my heart and soul into modeling, programming, and repeating calculations to the point where my computer went down due to thermal runaway.

とは言え、何かを発表する人間は、こういう批判に晒されることは仕方がないかもしれません。
Nevertheless, people who publish something may have no choice but to expose themselves to this criticism.
しかし、私は、黙って批判を受けいれるほど、心の広い人間ではありません。
But I am not so open-minded as to accept criticism in silence.
私は、その批判をした人間を見つけ出します。
I will find out who made that criticism.
本人を確実に特定できる訳ではありませんが、様々な計算や計測ツールを使って、絞り込むことはできますし、SNSに至っては、その作業すら必要ありません。
I cannot identify the person with certainty. Still, I can narrow down the person using various calculations and measurement tools, and searching for people using social networking sites does not even require that task.
そして、その人間の過去のコメントを読んで ―― 嗤って、溜飲を下げています。
Then I read the person's past comments -- and laugh and feel better.
そういう人間は、『雑な計算と推定』どころか、自分で論を展開すらできず、他人のコメントをフォローするか、追従し続けているだけの人間であることが多いです(というか、それが圧倒的)。
Such people are often (or overwhelmingly) unable to develop their arguments, let alone 'miscellaneous calculations and estimates', and keep following or following the comments of others.

自力で仮説を立てて検証をしようとする人は、他人の行った仮説ー検証プロセスを『雑な計算と推定』などとは言い方はしません。
People who try to test hypotheses independently do not refer to the hypothesis-testing process carried out by others as 'messy calculations and estimations.'
そのような基礎的な仮説を打ち立てて頂いたことで、それを踏み台として、さらに精度の高い仮説検証を行うことができるようになるからです。
They have formulated a primary hypothesis, which we can use as a springboard for even more accurate hypothesis testing.
科学は、仮説 → 実験 → 検証 → 評価のプロセスの総体であり、これのプロセスが繰り返されることで累積的に発展するという特徴を持っています。
Science is the total process of hypothesis →, experiment →, verification →, and evaluation, and the cumulative development through the repetition of this process is to the point.
だから、人の仮説検証を『雑な計算と推定』と思うのであれば、それを非難するのではなく、それをベースとして(1)仮説のブラッシュアップを行う、あるいは、(2)全くの別方向からの仮説提案を行う、というのが、科学的に正しい振舞いです。
So, if you think people's hypothesis testing is a 'messy calculation and estimation,' it is scientifically correct not to condemn it but to use it as a basis for (1) brushing up the hypothesis or (2) proposing a hypothesis from a completely different direction.
それすらもできないのに、『雑な計算と推定』とだけ言い放って立ち去るだけの人間は、私に言わせれば、
I can say that people who can't even do that and say 'messy calculations and estimations' and walk away is

"A person with a messy brain and an ignorant mind."
です。

という訳で、私の手元には、そういう人を特定した上で、その雑な頭脳と無知性の記録があります。
So, I have a record of the messy-headedness and ignorance with which I have identified such people.
私は狭量で、執念深い人間です。
